Our Native Hawaiian Garden is Completed

Getting Ready for the Work Day in the Garden


Today, our Native Hawaiian plants arrived.  Here's a sneak peak of our garden which will be completed on Saturday, July 28, 2012.  The garden will feature numerous lowland, coastal, endangered, medicinal and flowering Native Hawaiian plants.  In advance, thank you to all the volunteers who will help to make our garden a reality for our students! Native Hawaiian Plants

Our plants have grown and are waiting to be transplanted to their new home.

New Location for Our Garden

Take a sneak peak at our new outdoor learning center.  This is the new home of our Native Hawaiian garden and future aquaponics area.

We are excited and look forward to the completion of our outdoor learning center!  Thank you to Haskeko for helping us to clear the area and for providing us with top soil!  Thank you to Ms. Sasaki for helping us to create the new mounds and for helping us to take care of our kalo and 'uala!  Thank you to Cary Takenaka and employees for helping us to prep the new area for our upcoming work day!  Thank you to HECO employees who will help us put the final touches to our garden!  Stay tuned for pictures from our upcoming work day.

Native Hawaiian Garden

On Saturday, July 28, we will be working on our Native Hawaiian Garden from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  We will be creating garden beds, planting various Native Hawaiian plants, laying weed mat, spreading out gravel for the walk ways, and much more.
